From dead presidents to stylized urine, in a game known as “layer tennis” these two designers of legend play off one anothers work to inspire their own designed reply — or “volley.”

In the series below the designers present, along with their creations, a short description — a peek into their mindframe during the late nights in which this work took place.

My first inclination, of course, is to use photos of dead presidents. I found this one of Lincoln. I respect him as a great leader and as a ‘hero,’ but he has one scary mug, so I burnt it off.

I’ll tell you where our heros have gone, to the freakin moon, spreading democracy while you sleep tight at night wrapped in an American flag. A common misconception in American history is that Lincoln lead the unification, but in reality he was busy beating the cheese out of commie moon-men.

Volley3

It is a little known historical fact that Lincoln took us into space. It is even more closely guarded secret that the way to fuel a trip into the void of space is to use pure, unrefined Rock n’ Roll. My return in this match was the first space album ever made. The only problem is that: in space no one can hear you shred.

Ever since Al Gore invented the Internet, the growing amount of work for future historians has increased exponentially. Whereas we currently only have to make educated guesses about the relative intelligence of our ancestors, we are now able to leave behind a massive trail of wrecked grammar and obvious observations.

Do you change your mind about what to have for dinner and need to tell everyone? Do you think what you are watching on TV is lol’s? If yes, then don’t forget the hashtag!
